Knowledge of heart rhythm disorders with nurses working in intensive and acute care

Abstract:

Cíl: Zjistit vědomosti všeobecných sester v intenzivní a akutní péči v diagnostice základních poruch srdečního rytmu. Zmapovat rozdíly vědomostí v oblasti arytmií mezi jednotlivými pracovišti JIP a akutní péče. Zjistit, jak ovlivňuje délka praxe znalosti sester v popisu EKG. Zjistit, zda úroveň vzdělání má vliv na vědomosti sester v oblasti arytmií. Ověřit, zda se sestry jednotek intenzivní a akutní péče účastní kongresů, či jiných vzdělávacích akcí zabývající se problematikou arytmií. Metodika: Metodou průzkumu bylo dotazníkové šetření. Data byla shromažďována od 6. 1. 2014 do 31. 1. 2014 v Městské nemocnici v Ostravě a ve Vítkovické nemocnici na odděleních intenzivní a akutní péče. Dotazník obsahoval otázky zaměřené na posouzení arytmií a primárního postupu při záchytu život ohrožující arytmie. Průzkumný soubor tvořil 89 respondentů. Výsledky: Ze zjištěných poznatků vyplývá, že nejvíce vědomostí v oblasti hodnocení arytmií měla oddělení s vysokou pravděpodobností záchytu arytmie. Dále je zjevné, že délka praxe v intenzivní a akutní péči a stupeň vzdělání vědomosti sester v oblasti arytmií ovlivňuje. Dle výsledného hodnocení účasti sester na odborných seminářích zabývající se problematikou arytmií se domníváme, že respondenti se účastní kongresů podle oboru, ve kterém pracují. Závěr: Posouzení EKG křivky a rozpoznání arytmií sestrou je stejně významné jako zhodnocení krevního tlaku, tělesné teploty a dalších fyziologických funkcí. Problematika arytmií by měla patřit obecně do všech odvětví akutní a intenzivní péče. Na základě zpracování získaných údajů, navrhujeme častěji začleňovat hodnocení arytmií do celoživotního vzdělávání sester.

Abstract:

Objective: To assess the knowledge of nurses in intensive and acute care in the diagnosis of basic cardiac rhythm disorders. To map the differences knowledge arrhythmias and ECG description between sites of intensive and acute care for nurses. Find out how it affects the length of practice nurses knowledge in the description of the ECG. To determine whether the level of education has an impact on the knowledge of nurses in arrhythmias. Check whether the nurses of intensive care and acute participate in conferences or other educational events dealing with arrhythmias. Methods: A survey methods were questionnaires. Data were collected from 6. 1. 2014 to 31. 1. 2014 Municipal Hospital in Ostrava and Vitkovice Hospital in intensive and acute care. The questionnaire included questions on the assessment of arrhythmias and primary procedure for the detection of life-threatening arrhythmias. The exploratory sample comprised 89 respondents. Results: From the findings show that much knowledge in the evaluation of arrhythmias department had a high probability of detection of arrhythmia. Furthermore, it is obvious the length of experience in intensive and acute care, and education level knowledge of nurses in arrhythmias influences. According to the final evaluation of the participation of nurses in specialized seminars dealing with arrhythmias suggests that respondents participating in congresses by field in which they work. Conclusion: Assessment of ECG arrhythmia detection and nurse is just as important as the evaluation of blood pressure, body temperature and other physiological functions. The issue of arrhythmias should be generally in all sectors of acute and intensive care. Based on the processing of the data obtained suggest frequently incorporate evaluation of arrhythmias in lifelong education of nurses.
