Visually impaired as a modern theme in literature of children and youth

Abstract:

The theme of the work is the problem of visual impairment in adolescents and an analysis of how this issue is reflected in German children's literature. The first theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the problem of disability. A specified description of stereotyped patterns of behavior towards visually impaired gives an analysis from a psychological perspective. The focus of the study is then given on the special case of a sudden-onset visual impairment of a teenager and analysis his psyche and general behavior after that event. The literary analysis of a selected sample work shows that the sudden blindness of a young person can cause communication problems with his personal environment as well as isolation and psychological problems, but this can be managed with the correct settings of its environment that breaks with stereotyped patterns of behavior so to reduce to a minimum the damages due to the event of a sudden-onset visual impairment. For the literary analysis of a novel served the book by Jana Frey named Lost glance: A blind girl.

Abstract:

Tématem této práce je problematika zrakového postižení u mladistvých a analýza, jakým způsobem se toto téma odráží v německé literatuře pro děti a mládež. První, teoretická část práce je věnována obecnému nastínění problematiky postižení. Jsou zde popsány stereotypní vzorce chování k lidem s postižením, konkretizováno zrakové postižení a z psychologického hlediska zkoumán jeho vliv na psychiku mladého člověka. Stěžejním bodem je zkoumání vlivu náhlého zrakového postižení či slepoty na psychickou stránku mladistvého. Analýza zvoleného literárního díla ukazuje, že náhlé oslepnutí mladého člověka může vést ke komunikačním problémům s nejbližším okolím, následně k izolaci a psychickým problémům. Nicméně tento aspekt může být díky správnému přístupu okolí redukován na minimum. K literární analýze sloužil román autorky Jany Frey Okamžik co změní život
