Children school clubs in distance form during the 1st wave of Covid-19 pandemic in Slovakia

Abstract:

Diploma thesis Children school clubs in distance form during the 1st wave of COVID-19 pandemic in Slovakia focuses on forms of distance education modified for the needs of children school clubs and the problems related to it. The thesis itself is separated into two parts – theoretical and practical. In the first part we are trying to describe areas, which the practical section is connected to, both the issues of children school club and distance education as well. Chapters, pointing out the importance and capabilities of the educator as the procurer of education outside the standard education – i.e. in the children school club, are also included in this section. At the end of the first part, a chapter describing the specific situation linked to the first wave of Covid-19 pandemic disease is to be found. This chapter, together with the research results, that was done as the part of the pilot analysis, symbolizes the imaginary bridge between the theoretical and practical parts of this thesis. The second part of this work was conceived to relevantly acquaint the reader with the results of qualitative research, as well as the whole research process. It is the research with the goal to describe the experiences of the educators with different forms of distance education in their work and to identify how they coped with this unprecedented and problematic situation – the anti-pandemic measures. The acquired data were obtained from semi-structured, both individual and group interview. The individual interview was conducted with the primary school student, who was attending distance form children school club on regular basis. The group interview took place through method of focus group of educators / tutors, who all had the personal experience with application of methods and forms of distance education into educational process of children school clubs. Additional source of data and informations was a survey with open questions. Subsequently all data were analyzed and interpreted by the tools of grounded theory.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca s názvom Školské kluby detí v dištančnej podobe počas 1. vlny pandémie Covid-19 na Slovensku sa zameriava na formy dištančného vzdelávania modifikované pre potreby školských klubov detí a problematiku s nimi spätú. Práca je rozčlenená na dve časti - teoretickú a praktickú. V prvej časti sa snažíme popísať oblasti, ktorých sa praktická časť dotýka a to ako problematiky školských klubov detí, tak dištančného vzdelávania. Taktiež sa v tejto časti nachádzajú kapitoly, ktoré poukazujú na dôležitosť a kompetentnosť vychovávateľa, ako sprostredkovateľa výchovy mimo vyučovania v školských kluboch detí. V závere prvej časti sa nachádza kapitola popisujúca konkrétnu situáciu spojenú s prvou vlnou pandémie ochorenia Covid-19. Tá spolu s výsledkami prieskumu, ktorý bol urobený v rámci pilotáže, tvorí pomyselný most medzi teoretickou a praktickou časťou tejto práce. Druhá časť práce bola koncipovaná, aby relevantne oboznámila čitateľa ako s výsledkami kvalitatívneho výskumu, tak aj s celým procesom. Jedná sa o výskum s cieľom popísať skúsenosti vychovávateľov s formami dištančného vzdelávania vo svojej práci a zistiť ako sa s bezprecedentnou problémovou situáciou – protipandemickými opatreniami, vyrovnali. Dáta boli získané z pološtruktúrovaného, individuálneho aj skupinového rozhovoru. Individuálny rozhovor bol vedený so žiačkou navštevujúcou pravidelne ŠKD dištančnou formou. Skupinový rozhovor sa uskutočnil metódou ohniskovej skupiny vychovávateľov, ktorí mali skúsenosť s aplikovaním metód a foriem dištančného vzdelávania do výchovno-vzdelávacieho procesu školských klubov detí. Ďalším zdrojom informácií bol dotazník s otvorenými otázkami. Následne boli všetky dáta analyzované a interpretované nástrojmi zakotvenej teórie.
