Identity of Police Organisation

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na identitu v policejních organizacích. Tento průzkum je, součástí projektu Comparative Police Studies in the EU (COMPOSITE). Je tedy pokračujícím výzkumem zaměřeným na možné změny v evropských policejních silách. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. První, teoretická část je zaměřena na policejní organizaci v České republice její strukturu a fungování. Dále se zde zabýváme definicí organizační kultury, řízením lidských zdrojů, personální psychologii a skupinou. Druhá, a tedy výzkumná, část diplomové práce, je zaměřena na zjištění a zodpovězení si otázky, zda jsou policejní organizace připraveny ke změnám, jaké mají celkové postoje ke změnám a policejní profesi obecně. Z vyhodnoceného dotazníkové šetření, jsme dospěli k závěru, že policisté spíše souhlasí s přijmutím změn, ale v jistém ohledu zaujímají i neutrální stanovisko.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the identity in the police organizations. This survey is a part of the Comparative Policy Studies in the EU (COMPOSITE) project. It is therefore an ongoing research, focusing on the possible changes in the European police force. The work is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part, is focused on the police organization in the Czech Republic, its structure and functioning. Furthermore it addresses the definition of an organizational culture, human resources management, personnel psychology and a group. The second and therefore the research part of the thesis focuses on determining and answering the question to whether the police organizations are prepared to change, what is the overall attitude to change and the police profession in general. From the questionnaire evaluation we concluded that police officers are rather acceptant towards the changes but in some respects also take a neutral stand.
