Woman's sexual life before and after childbirth

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem práce bylo zjistit, zda těhotenství a porod subjektivně ovlivňuje prožívání sexuálního života ženy. Zda je žena se svým sexuálním životem spokojená, zda existuje rozdíl v subjektivním prožívání sexuality ženy před a po porodu a zjistit zdroj vědomostí, jejich potřebu a využití ženou ohledně případných změn v prožívání sexuality před a po porodu. Metodika: Průzkumný soubor tvořilo 5 žen, které splňovaly kritéria výběru. Byly vybrány záměrnou metodou. Byla zvolena kvalitativní výzkumná metoda. Šetření bylo realizováno v měsíci lednu 2015. Ke sběru dat byla použita metoda individuálního nestandardizovaného rozhovoru, byly připraveny pouze tematické okruhy. Výsledky: Na základě podrobné analýzy získaných dat byly vytvořeny kategorie (Vědomosti žen o změnách v sexuálním životě před a po porodu, Sexuální život, Prožívání sexuálního života) a dvanácti podkategorií (Získané vědomosti, Potřeba vědomostí a jejich využití, Pohlavní styk v těhotenství, Pohlavní styk po porodu, Intimní chvíle s partnerem nekoitální, Intimní chvíle v přítomnosti dítěte, Strach ze sexu, Bolest při sexu, Spokojenost se sexuálním životem, Komunikace s partnerem, Libido, Rozdíl v prožívání sexuálního života). Respondentky ovlivnění sexuality potvrdily. Změny se týkaly především libida, frekvence styků a prožívání pohlavního styku. Závěr: Šetřením bylo zjištěno, že somatické a psycho-sociální změny v graviditě a po porodu mají velký vliv na prožívání ženské sexuality. Zároveň byla zjištěna špatná informovanost žen v prenatální poradně. Je žádoucí, aby komunikace mezi zdravotníky a ženami byla zlepšena, jelikož zdravá sexualita působí na celkové zdraví ženy a je základním kamenem fungujícího partnerského vztahu.

Abstract:

Objective: The aim of the study was to determine whether pregnancy and childbirth affects subjective experience of sexual life of a woman. Whether a woman is satisfied with her sexuality, whether there is a difference in subjective experience of sexuality of a woman before and after childbirth. Also to find out the sources of knowledge about changing her sexuality, her needs and usage of this information before and after childbirth. Methods: Exploratory group consisted of five women. Qualitative research method has been chosen. The survey was conducted in January 2015. The methods of individual non-standardized interview were used for data collection. There were only topics prepared. Results: Based on a detailed analysis of the data, categories (woman?s knowledge about changes in sexual life before and after childbirth, sexual life and experiencing of sexual life) and twelve subcategories (acquired knowledge, need of knowledge and its usage, sexual intercourse in pregnancy, sexual intercourse after childbirth, non-coital intimate moments, intimate moments in the presence of a child, fear of the sex, pain during sex, satisfaction with sexual life, communication with partner, libido, differences in experiencing the sexual life) were created. All participants stated changes in experiencing sexual life. The changes mainly referred to libido, the frequency of the intercourse and also experiencing the intercourse. Conclusion: The investigation revealed that the somatic and psycho-social changes during pregnancy and after childbirth have a big impact on the experience of female sexuality. There was also detected no awareness of women in prenatal counselling. It is desirable to have better communication between medics and women, to know how healthy sexuality works upon overall health of women and it is the cornerstone of a functional relationship.
