Digital competence of teachers in the context of the educational needs of the information society: a case study of the Masaryk elementary school in Lanžhot

Abstract:

Práce zkoumá digitální kompetence učitelů na případové škole MZŠ Lanžhot. Teoretická část se věnuje definicím digitálních kompetencích z různých hledisek. Pojednává o tom, co je od učitele v informační společnosti očekáváno a jaká by měla být jeho transformace. Na celé téma je nahlíženo v souvislosti s evropským prostředím, které velmi zasahuje do českého vzdělávání. Primárním zdrojem se stal rámec DigCompEdu, na který je pak navázána analýza výzkumných dat, jež byla získávána jak kvantitativními, tak kvalitativními metodami. Cílem práce je zjištění, jak učitelé vnímají vlastní digitální kompetence v kontextu své pedagogické praxe v informační společnosti a jaká je jejich úroveň. Druhou rovinou výzkumu bylo distanční vzdělávání, které v učitelských kompetencích hrálo roli.

Abstract:

Main focus of the thesis is to assess digital competence of teachers in Masaryk elementary school in Lanžhot. The theoretical part is focused on the definitions of digital competence from different points of view. The roles of teachers in information society and how the roles should be transformed are discussed in this thesis. The whole topic is analysed in the context of European society which has a significant impact on Czech education. Primary source is the DigCompEdu framework which is the basis for data analysis. The data was collected by quantitative and qualitative methods. The aim of the work is a subjective view of the teachers’ own digital competence in their pedagogical practice and self-assessment of their digital skills. Other part of the research is distance learning which is considered as a key role in teachers' competence.
