Aesthetic education as theoretical discipline cultivating taste of a secondary school student

Abstract:

Cílem práce je představit kultivaci vkusu jako jeden z ústředních úkolů estetické výchovy. První část práce se věnuje teoriím a přístupům k estetické výchově. Následuje popis vzniku estetické kategorie vkusu a jeho vývoj až do podoby, kterou má dnes. Autor sleduje, zda a jak lze vkus jako senzitivní a kognitivní mentální činnost kultivovat. V rámci uměnovědných disciplín se práce zabývá některými možnými technikami práce se vkusem ve snaze o jeho prohloubení. Dále se autor zabývá myšlenkou využití vkusu jako dovednosti tvořící demarkační linii proti konzumnímu způsobu života. V závěru práce je vkus představen jako element působícího na kvalitu života v mnoha jeho aspektech.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to present taste cultivation as one of the fundamental tasks of aesthetic education. The first part is dedicated to aesthetic education theories and approaches. A description of aesthetic taste category and its development to the present form follows. The author explores if and how it is possible to cultivate taste as a sensitive and cognitive mental activity. Within the scope of art theory disciplines the thesis deals with some possible methods of work with taste with an effort to deepen it. Furthermore, the author deals with the idea of employing taste as a skill representing lines of demarcation against consumer life style. As a conclusion taste is presented as an element affecting quality of life in many of its aspects.
