Forests and biodiversity in historical contexts in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá zhodnocením vývoje a významu lesa z hlediska biodiverzity. Cíle jsou zpracovávány na území České republiky, avšak v práci se objevují i zahraniční studie, které prokazují na většinovou pravdivost a z obecného hlediska zaměřeného na lesy a biodiverzitu. Souvislost mezi lesem a biodiverzitou nám v této práci umožňuje poukázat na problematiku lesního hospodářství, která je v současné době celosvětově řešeným tématem. V metodickém postupu je popsáno shromáždění informací a s jakými klíčovými faktory ovlivňující fungování lesa v souvislosti s biodiverzitou se v současné době setkáváme. Práce je z velké části spjata s historickým vývojem až po současnou dobu. Je zde zaměřeno na okolnosti, které se v několika desítek let odehrály a jakou roli představuje spojitost mezi lesním hospodářstvím a biologickou diverzitou. Výsledky této práce jsou odkázány na otázky, nakolik dnes charakter lesů přispívá k úrovni biodiverzity z hlediska zaměřeného na odumřelé dřevo nebo negativní role současného stavu, které je ovlivněna působením antropogenní činností. V závěru je pojednáno o tom, jakým způsobem byl v historii ovlivněn les a zjištěné následky nepříznivého působení antropogenní činností. Dále jsou zmíněné prokazatelné výsledky způsobené vlivem odumřelého dřeva v souvislosti s biodiverzitou.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of the development and importance of forest in terms of biodiversity. The objectives are elaborated on the territory of the Czech Republic, however, the thesis also includes foreign studies that prove the majority to be true and from a general perspective focused on forests and biodiversity. The connection between forest and biodiversity in this thesis allows us to highlight the issue of forest management, which is currently a worldwide topic. The methodological approach describes the information gathering and the key factors that influence forest functioning in relation to biodiversity that are currently encountered. The work is largely linked to historical developments up to the present time. It focuses on the circumstances that have taken place over several decades and what role the link between forest management and biodiversity plays. The results of this work are referred to the questions of how much the nature of forests today contributes to the level of biodiversity in terms of focusing on dead wood or the negative role of the current state, which is affected by anthropogenic activities. The conclusion discusses how the forest has been affected historically and the identified consequences of adverse effects of anthropogenic activity. Furthermore, the demonstrable results caused by deadwood impact on biodiversity are discussed.
