Project management Scrum within bank environment

Abstract:

Cílem této kvalifikační práce je analyzovat jednu z nejpoužívanějších agilních metodik softwarového vývoje, Scrum. Na samém začátku své práce se zamyslím nad otázkami: Jaký je hlavní rozdíl mezi agilním a tradičním řízením? Jaké jsou benefity a rizika po nasazení Scrumu? Pomocí výzkumných otázek zjistím, zda kombinace tradičního a agilního řízení či pouze spojení různých agilních metodik může odstranit nedostatky v jednotvárném řízení. Teoretická část objasní metodiku Scrum, její charakteristiku, role, činnosti a události. Zároveň je v teoretické části pro srovnání popsána charakteristika tradičního řízení a pro představu je uveden příklad vodopádového modelu. Praktická část obsahuje případovou studii agilní metodiky v bankovním prostředí, ze které jsou zachycené slabé stránky na základě nichž, jsou v závěru vyvozená doporučení.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to analyze one of the most used agile methodologies of software development, Scrum. At the very beginning of my work, I will think about the questions: What is the main difference between agile and traditional management? What are the benefits and risks of using Scrum? With the aid of research questions, I will find out whether the combination of traditional and agile management or just a combination of different agile methodologies can eliminate the shortcomings in monotonous management. The theoretical part explains the Scrum methodology, its characteristics, roles, activities and events. At the same time, the theoretical part describes the characteristics of traditional management for comparison, and an example of a waterfall model is given for an idea. The practical part contains a case study of agile methodology in the banking environment, from which the weaknesses are captured on the basis of which, in the conclusion, recommendations are derived.
