Multimedia and interactive books for children as a possible means of developing pre-literacy

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Multimediální a interaktivní knihy pro děti jako možný prostředek pro rozvíjení pregramotností“ pojednává o možnostech, které nabízí dostupné multimediální a interaktivní knihy dětem pro rozvoj jejich předčtenářských dovedností. Tyto kompetence jsou významné pro budování vztahu dítěte k samotnému čtenářství a jejich oblibě knih. Společné čtení dětí a rodičů s využitím nových technologických prostředků jako jsou multimédiální a interaktivní knihy, otevírá těmto čtenářům nové možnosti, jak si společné čtení oblíbit a zároveň prohlubovat důležité čtenářské dovednosti dětí. První část práce představuje souvislosti mezi jednotlivými interakcemi čtení jak z pohledu rodiče, který knihu předčítá a pomáhá s využíváním technologií, tak z pohledu odborníků a uskutečněných výzkumů takového čtení. Druhá část práce zahrnuje prezentaci výzkumné sondy, která reflektuje kompetence dětí zprostředkovaně skrze zkušenosti rodičů, kteří interaktivní a multimediální knihy používají s dětmi předškolního věku a mají zkušenosti s jejich vlivem na pregramotnost a čtenářské dovednosti. Výstupem je komparace těchto zkušeností, následná analýza a je předložen návrh didaktických postupů pro práci s vybranými knihami a doporučení k dalšímu výzkumnému šetření.

Abstract:

The thesis "Multimedia and interactive books for children as a possible tool of developing pre-literacy" deals with the possibilities offered by available multimedia and interactive books for children to develop their reading skills. These competencies are important in building a child's relationship with reading itself and their enjoyment of books. Children and parents reading together, using new technological tools such as multimedia and interactive books, opens up new opportunities for these readers to enjoy reading together while deepening children's important reading skills. The first part of the thesis presents the connections between reading interactions from the perspective of the parent who reads the book and helps with the use of technology, as well as from the perspective of specialists and the research conducted on this kind of reading. The second part of the thesis includes the presentation of a research probe that reflects on children's competences mediated through the experiences of parents who use interactive and multimedia books with preschool children and have experience with their impact on literacy and reading skills. The output is a comparison of these experiences, followed by an analysis and a proposal for didactic practices for working with the selected books and recommendations for fur-ther research investigation.
