Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zaměřuje na ženské postavy ve sbírce The English and Scottish Popular Ballads, kterou v letech 1882-1888 sestavil Francis James Child. Tato sbírka obsahuje 305 balad, které není možné vymezit na základě uceleného autorského světonázoru. Na místo toho obsahují velké množství přístupů, mínění a názorů. This Master’s Diploma Thesis focuses on female characters in The English and Scottish Popular Ballads, a canonical collection of 305 ballads, which was compiled and published by Francis James Child between 1882 and 1888.
