The specifics of tourism of Czech and Slovak clients in DPRK

Abstract:

LOMENČÍKOVÁ, Nikola. The specifics of tourism of Czechoslovak clients in DPRK [Bachelor Thesis] The Institute of Hospitality Management. Prague: 2018, 70 pages. Bachelor Thesis is an analysis of tourism in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, which is currently the world's most isolated country. The objective of this work is the analysis of tourism and its specificities, which stem from the political position of the country and the North Korean regime. The topic of the bachelor thesis was chosen based on the author's own interest in the issue, in order to improve the accessibility and truthfulness of information about the country for Czech and Slovak tourists interested in this particular destination. The bachelor thesis is divided into three parts. In the theoretical part, the author focuses on a detailed description of tourism, new trends in tourism, identifies the adventurous tourism that is associated with the visit of the DPRK and the tourist destinations, which she dealt with in detail. In this part, the author also describes the origins and attributes of ideology, personality cult, and the history of the North Korean regime in order to bring readers closer to the main reasons of landscape specificity. In the analytical part, the author presents the Korean People's Democratic Republic as a new destination for tourism. Using her own research, available information, electronic communication with the Czech Ambassador in Pyongyang, and interviews with travel agencies, the author focuses on identifying specific elements of tourism in this part of the work. Through selected research methods, the necessary information was obtained to confirm or rebut the hypotheses. Based on the information obtained, the author, in the third part of the thesis, has produced a model of three recommendations that, according to the author, would lead to an improvement in the DPRK's perceptions in the future, with which the interest in the destination would be directly related.

LOMENČÍKOVÁ, Nikola. Špecifiká cestovného ruchu pre česko-slovenskú klientelu v KĽDR [Bakalárska práca] Vysoká škola hotelová v Prahe. Praha: 2018, počet strán 70. Bakalárska práca je analýzou cestovného ruchu v Kórejskej ľudovodemokratickej republike, ktorá v súčasnosti predstavuje najizolovanejšiu krajinu sveta. Hlavným cieľom tejto práce je analýza cestovného ruchu a jeho špecifík, ktoré plynú z politického postavenia krajiny a severokórejského režimu. Téma bakalárskej práce bola zvolená na základe vlastného záujmu autorky o danú problematiku s cieľom zlepšiť dostupnosť a pravdivosť informácií o krajine pre českých a slovenských záujemcov. Bakalárska práca je rozdelená do troch častí. V teoretickej časti sa autorka venuje podrobnému popisu cestovného ruchu, novým trendom v oblasti cestovného ruchu, identifikuje dobrodružný cestovný ruch, ktorý sa s návštevou KĽDR spája a destinácií cestovného ruchu, ktorú podrobne rozoberá. V tejto časti autorka taktiež popisuje vznik a atribúty ideológie, kult osobnosti a históriu severokórejského režimu s cieľom čitateľom priblížiť hlavné dôvody špecifickosti krajiny. V analytickej časti autorka predstavuje Kórejskú ľudovodemokratickú republiku ako novú destináciu cestovného ruchu. Pomocou vlastného výskumu, dostupných informácií, elektronickej komunikácie so zástupcom českého veľvyslanca v Pchjongjangu a rozhovorov s cestovnými kanceláriami sa autorka v tejto časti práce venuje identifikácií špecifických prvkov cestovného ruchu. Prostredníctvom vybraných výskumných metód boli v tejto časti získavané potrebné informácie vedúce k potvrdeniu alebo vyvráteniu predom stanovených hypotéz. Na základe získaných informácií autorka v tretej časti práce vytvorila model troch odporúčaní, ktoré by podľa autorkinho presvedčenia viedli v budúcnosti k zlepšeniu vnímania KĽDR s čím by priamoúmerne súviselo aj zvýšenie záujmu o destináciu.
