Relation between marital conflict and perceptions of romantic relationships in adolescence

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na souvislost rodičovského konfliktu (měřeného metodou CPIC- Dětská percepce konfliktu mezi rodiči), dle výpovědí respondentů, s vlastními představami o obsahu partnerského vztahu, jeho pozitiv či negativ a charakteristik protějšku. Rodičovský konflikt se často odráží v podobě zhoršených sociálních kompetencí, neschopnosti řešit spory a obecně špatnou kvalitou mezilidské (partnerské) komunikace. Pomocí nápodoby dítě chování a jednání rodičů, kterému bývá často svědkem, transferuje i do vlastního romantického vztahu. Jediným pozitivním dopadem v situaci rodičovského konfliktu, může být pro adolescenta schopnost konstruktivního řešení sporů, které dítě rovněž může přenášet do vlastních svazků. Romantický vztah je pro adolescenta novou skutečností a jeho představa může do jisté míry zrcadlit vlastní zkušenosti ze soužití rodičovského páru. Uvedeny byly souvislosti vysoké míry konfliktu s negativní představou o vztahu či naopak představa bezproblémovosti v odrazu vlastního hodnocení svazku rodičů jako klidného.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the relation between marital conflict ( measured by CPIC -Child perception of conflict between the parents) , according to the statements of the respondents with their own ideas about the content of the partnership, its positive and negative characteristics and partner´s qualities. Parental conflict is often reflected in the form of degraded social competence, inability to resolve disputes and generally poor quality of interpersonal (partner) communication. Using imitation of negative parents interactions, child which is often witnessed, transfers them into their own romantic relationship. The only positive in a situation of parental conflict can be constructive type of solving problems, good for the adolescent's ability to resolve disputes that child also can transfer into their own volumes. A romantic relationship is the new reality for the adolescent and his idea may, to some extent, reflect their own experiences from living the parents. Shown was the context of the high level of conflict with the negative image of the relationship or vice versa the idea of worry free reflection of the own evaluation of parents as a calm union.
