Developing mathematical literacy using GeoGebra software in stereometry

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na zkoumání využití softwaru GeoGebra v kontextu výuky stereometrie na druhém stupni základní školy. Zahrnuje teoretická východiska, jako je role didaktiky matematiky, konstruktivismu ve výuce matematiky a specifika Hejného metody. Dále se zabývá analýzou digitálních technologií v rámci matematického vzdělávání a představuje podrobné pojetí softwaru GeoGebra a jeho využití ve výuce. Práce obsahuje popis GeoGebra Book a líčení online úloh založených na učebnicích Hejného metody. Hlavním prvkem práce je akční výzkum v podobě pilotního ověření online knihy GeoGebra Book ve výuce, kde je proveden kvalitativní výzkum s důrazem na výzkumný problém a otázky za využití metodologie zmíněného akčního výzkumu, ale také polostrukturovaných rozhovorů a ohniskových skupin. Práce se zaměřuje na realizaci výzkumu a zhodnocení jeho výsledků, včetně implementace zkoumaných metod v praxi. Výsledkem diplomové práce, mimo vytvořenou GeoGebra Book, jsou doporučení a závěry týkající se využití softwaru GeoGebra k rozvoji matematické gramotnosti žáků, posílení žákovy motivace a podrobný popis interakce dětí, učitele a digitálního prostředí při výuce matematiky s využitím programu GeoGebra na základní škole.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the exploration of the use of GeoGebra software in the context of teaching stereometry at the second level of primary school. It includes theoretical backgrounds such as the role of mathematics didactics, constructivism in mathematics education and the specifics of the Hejné method. It also discusses the analysis of digital technologies in mathematics education and presents a detailed concept of GeoGebra software and its use in teaching. The paper includes a description of the GeoGebra Book and a depiction of online assignments based on the Hejny Method textbooks. The main element of the thesis is action research in the form of a pilot validation of the online GeoGebra Book in the classroom, where qualitative research is conducted with an emphasis on the research problem and questions using the methodology of the aforementioned action research, but also semi-structured interviews and focus groups. The thesis focuses on the implementation of the research and the evaluation of its results, including the implementation of the researched methods in practice. As a result of the thesis, apart from the GeoGebra Book created, recommendations and conclusions are made regarding the use of GeoGebra software to develop students' mathematical literacy, enhance students' motivation and a detailed description of the interaction between children, teacher and digital environment in teaching mathematics using GeoGebra software in primary school.
