Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou anglicismů v současných časopisech pro mládež a řeší otázku, zda čtenáři rozumí anglicismům užívaných v těchto časopisech. Výzkum proběhl metodou dotazníku na základních školách ve městě a na vesnici. Výsledek šetření, který mimo jiné odhalil i vyjadřovací problémy mladých lidí, nelze shrnout do několika vět. Můžeme ale říci, že pokud mladý člověk nezná přesný význam slova, pomůže si překladem z angličtiny. Dokáže tedy většinou slovo správně zařadit, ovšem ne vždy dokáže vysvětlit, co přesně znamená.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the problem of using English expressions in the contemporary magazines for teenagers and answers the question if the readers understand the English expressions used in those magazines. The research was realized by the method of a questionnaire in basic schools in a city and a village. The result (which, by the way, discovered the problems of the teenagers to express or explain something) can be hardly summarized in a few sentences. But we can say that if teenagers don’t know the exact meaning of an expression, they help themselves with translation from English. The majority of them are able to categorize the words but they are not always able to explain what exactly the word means.
