Analysis of the strategic development of the Czech Republic in the context of economic reform agenda Europe 2020 in years 2010-2017

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou hospodářské reformní agendy Evropa 2020 a především se zaměřuje na otázku, zda dosavadní vývoj České republiky probíhá v souladu se závazky Vlády České republiky vůči Evropské komisi ve vztahu k plnění jednotlivých indikátorů této strategie. Výzkum tématu nabývá s blížícím se koncem programového období strategie na významu a pro zodpovězení základní výzkumné otázky práce analyzuje statistiky vývoje 5 primárních indikátorů České republiky jak v celoevropském, tak i národním kontextu. Výsledky analýzy ukazují, že ke konci roku 2017 Česká republika dostála svým závazkům v 6 z 8 vymezených oblastí, přičemž doposud nesplnila cíl snížení primární spotřeby energie a snížení podílu osob s předčasně ukončeným vzděláním. Na základě získaných výsledků je zároveň verifikována hlavní hypotéza práce, jež předpokládá, že současný ekonomický vývoj České republiky probíhá v souladu s celoevropskými a národními cíli hospodářské reformní agendy Evropa 2020.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis addresses the issue of the economic reform agenda Europe 2020 and examines the question, whether the current development of the Czech Republic is in compliance with the commitments of the Government of the Czech Republic towards the European Commission in relation to the fulfilment of individual indicators of this strategy. The research of this particular topic is crucial due to the upcoming end of the programming period of the agenda and in order to answer this pivotal question, the thesis analyses statistical data of the development of 5 primary indicators of the Czech Republic in both the European and national context of the strategy. The results of the analysis show that by the end of 2017, the Czech Republic fully complied with its obligations in 6 out of 8 defined areas, while still not meeting the target of lowering primary energy consumption and reducing number of early leavers from school. The thesis at the same time verifies the primary hypothesis, which assumes that the current economic development of the Czech Republic is in compliance with the European and national goals of the Europe 2020 economic reform agenda.
