CRISPR/Cas systémy představují důležitý mechanismus molekulárních nůžek, kterým se prokaryotické organizmy mohou bránit vůči virovým patogenům. CRISPR/Cas systems represent an important mechanism of molecular scissors, by which bacteria can defend themselves against viral pathogens. This mechanism, due to its very precise targeting of selected sites in the genome, was very quickly practically applied in gene editing and mutations in various species of organisms, including animals and plants.
