Possibilities of mapping watercourses and small water structures using a mobile device with LiDAR using the example of the Dílský brook in the cadastral area of Oslavany

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá využitím mobilních telefonů s LiDAR senzorem pro mapování na příkladu vodního toku Dílského potoka v Oslavanech a malých vodních staveb na něm vybudovaných. Cílem práce je zhodnotit přesnost těchto zařízení pro tvorbu 3D modelu koryta toku a drobných vodních staveb na základě porovnání s geodetickým měřením a dále zodpovědět na otázku, zda lze nahradit běžné geodetické zaměřovací metody právě využitím mobilního telefonu vybaveného LiDAR senzorem. Koryto Dílského potoka je charakteristické pro jeho složitý reliéf, kde se objevují velmi příkré svahy a skály, ale taktéž hustá vegetace. Nachází se zde rovněž řada malých vodních staveb (přehrážek). Pro účely práce bylo koryto toku i stavební objekty zaměřeny pomocí klasických geodetických metod kombinací GNSS měření a totální stanice a následně testovány různé metody skenování pomocí mobilního telefonu. Výsledky byly vzájemně porovnány, spočteny polohové i výškové odchylky a statisticky vyhodnoceny. Z výsledků práce vyplývá, že využití mobilních telefonů s LiDAR senzorem může nahradit klasické geodetické metody pouze na malých částech vodního toku a malých stavebních objektech, nicméně může být využito pro detailní a plošné 3D modelování reliéfu v kombinaci s geodetickými metodami.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the use of mobile phones with LiDAR sensor for mapping on the example of the water flow of the Dílský brook in Oslavany and small water structures built on it. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the accuracy of these devices for creating of 3D models of th bed of the stream and small water structures based on a comparison with geodetic measurements and to answer the question whether it is possible to replace conventional geodetic surveying methods by using a mobile phone equipped with a LiDAR sensor. The bed of the Dílský brook is characterised by its complex relief, with very steep slopes and rocks, but also dense vegetation. There are also a number of small water structures (dams). For the purpose of the work, the stream channel and the structures were surveyed using classical geodetic methods combining GNSS measurements and total station and subsequently tested various scanning methods using a mobile phone. The results were compared with each other, positional and altitudinal deviations were calculated and statistically evaluated. The results of the work show that the use of mobile phones with LiDAR sensor can replace classical geodetic methods only on small parts of watercourse and small construction objects, however, it can be used for detailed and planar 3D relief modelling in combination with geodetic methods.
