Research on the use of ICT on children and youth and its possible positive and negative impacts

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá zkoumáním frekvence užívání ICT u dětí a mládeže a její možné pozitivní a negativní vlivy. Zaměřuje se na užívání ICT zařízení dětmi ve školním věku. Práce se věnuje rodičovské mediaci a zjišťuje míru kontroly, kterou rodiče svým dětem věnují. V závěru se práce věnuje rodinnému zázemí a roli, kterou může mít na frekvenci užívání zařízení a restriktivní mediace. Práce se v tématu frekvence užívání ICT shoduje s předešlými studiemi. Bylo zjištěno, že hlavním médiem je pro děti mobilní telefon a že trávení času na zařízeních se zvyšuje spolu s věkem. Časové omezení bylo určeno jako nejčastější způsob restriktivní mediace. Výsledky v oblasti rodinného zázemí naznačují rozšířené povědomí o rizicích online aktivit.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the study of the frequency of ICT use in children and adolescents and its possible positive and negative effects. We focus on the use of ICT devices by children of school age and the beginning of pubescence. The work also deals with parental mediation. So we try to find out the degree of control that parents give to their children. At the end of the thesis, work deals with the family background and the role it can play in the frequency of use of the devices and restrictive mediation. The work agrees with previous studies on the frequency of ICT use. It has been found that the main medium for children is the mobile phone and that spending time on devices increases with age. Time limitation was identified as the most common method of restrictive mediation. The results in the area of family background indicate widespread awareness of the risks of online activities.
