Czech social work with seniors in the period of 1950s and 1960s focused on Ostrava

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce analyzuje českou sociální práci v 50. a 60. letech 20. století se zaměřením na cílovou skupinu seniorů. Součástí práce je také popis vývoje tří domovů pro seniory v Ostravě a jejím okolí z období 50. a 60. let. Zvolenou metodou pro zpracování této práce je analýza a deskripce literatury a pramenů dostupných k tomuto tématu dle klíčových slov. Bakalářská práce vychází z primárních zdrojů písemného charakteru, které jsou uloženy v Archivu města Ostravy. Jedná se o správy národních výborů různých městských částí města Ostravy z období 50. a 60. let. Primární zdroje jsou doplněny poznatky ze studia sekundární literatury v podobě odborných publikací např. těchto autorů: Schimmerlingová, Haškovcová, Charvátová, Matoušek, Rákosník a další. Výsledkem práce je popis podoby sociální práce, její proměny a vývoj s cílovou skupinou seniorů v 50. a 60. letech 20. století v Ostravě a jejím okolí.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis analyses Czech social work in the 1950s and 1960s with a focus on the target group of the elderly. The thesis also includes a description of the development of three homes for the elderly in Ostrava and its surroundings in the 1950s and 1960s. The chosen method for the elaboration of this thesis is the analysis and description of literature and sources available on this topic according to key words. The bachelor thesis is based on primary sources of a written nature, which are stored in the Ostrava City Archives. These are the reports of the national committees of various districts of the city of Ostrava from the 1950s and 1960s. The primary sources are supplemented by the findings from the study of secondary literature in the form of specialist publications by Schimmerlingová, Haškovcová, Charvátová, Matoušek, Rákosník and more. The result of the work is a description of the form of social work, its changes and development with the target group of the elderly in the 1950s and 1960s in Ostrava and its surroundings.
