Lebanon in the years 2005 - 2009

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Libanon v letech 2005 - 2009 je zaměřena především na politické dění v tomto období. Práce analyzuje politické dění v Libanonu na základě předešlých historických událostí, které ovlivnily vztahy v tamějším politickém dění. Práce v první části vysvětluje kulturní pozadí problému, pak také popisuje dobu po občanské válce, kde především vysvětluje vztah Libanonu se Sýrií. Období 2005 -2009 je uvedeno atentátem na Rafíka Harírího a Cedrovou revolucí, poté popisuje politickou situaci před válkou v roce 2006. Podstatnou část práce je věnována válce v roce 2006, tj. Červencové válce. Poslední část se zabývá poválečnou politickou situací a volbami v roce 2009.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis Lebanon in the years 2005 - 2009 is focused mainly on the political situation in that time. The thesis analyzes political happening on the base of the previous historical events, which influenced the relationships on the political scene in the time period 2005 to 2009. The first part of the paper explains the cultural background of the problem, further more it explains the period after the civil war, where is the relationship between Syria and Lebanon described. The period 2005 to 2009 is introduced with the assassination of Rafiq Hariri and the Cedar Revolution, than it describes the political situation before the war of 2006. A significant part is dedicated to the war of 2006, also known as the June War. The last part covers the after war political situation and the general elections in 2009.
