Adaptation Mechanisms and Stress Manifestations in the Institutional Education Environment

Abstract:

Proces adaptace jedince do zátěžového prostředí školských zařízení pro výkon ústavní a ochranné výchovy bývá často spojen s projevy stresu jako přirozené reakce organismu na zásadní změnu. Průběh tohoto procesu může zásadně ovlivňovat výchovné působení na jedince. Diplomová práce je proto věnována tématu adaptace jedince na zařízení náhradní výchovné péče a zátěž spojenou s tímto procesem. Teoretická východiska práce jsou tvořena aktuálními poznatky z oblasti problematiky adaptace jedince, náročných a zátěžových situací, stresu a jeho projevů a dopadů, prevence stresu atd., podobně jako problematiky ústavní a ochranné výchovy a činnosti školských zařízení pro výkon ústavní a ochranné výchovy. Empirická část práce je věnována prezentaci pojetí a výsledků kvantitativně orientovaného výzkumného šetření, zacíleného na sledování výskytu projevů stresu v různých fázích adaptačního procesu u jedinců umístěných v zařízeních institucionální výchovy. Realizace výzkumného šetření je součástí širších výzkumných aktivit katedry pedagogiky PF UJEP. Výsledkem práce jsou mimo jiné strukturovaná doporučení pro možnou úpravu postupu výše uvedeného typu zařízení ve zkoumané oblasti.

Abstract:

The process of adapting an individual to the stressful environment of school facilities for institutional care is often associated with stress as the natural response of the organism to a fundamental change. This process can fundamentally influence the educational impact on the individual. This diploma thesis is devoted to the topic of adapting the individual to the institutional care facility and the burden associated with this process. The theoretical basis of the thesis is based on current knowledge of problems of individual adaptation, difficult and stressful situations, stress and its manifestations and impacts, prevention of stress, etc., as well as problems of institutional care and activities of school facilities for institutional care. The empirical part of the thesis is devoted to the presentation of the concepts and results of quantitatively oriented research aimed at monitoring the occurrence of stress manifestations at different stages of the adaptation process in individuals placed in institutions of institutional care. The implementation of the research is part of the broader research activities of the Pedagogical Department of the Faculty of Education, UJEP. The result of the thesis is, among other things, structured recommendations for a possible modification of the above mentioned type of strategies in institutional care.
