The potential of the literary text “Neu in der Stadt” by Paul Rusch to promote language skills in writing

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the use of literary texts in the teaching of German as a foreign language in order to examine their potential for the development of language skills. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether the proposed teaching of one of the chapters of the book "Neu in der Stadt" has the potential to develop language skills in writing in the teaching of German as a foreign language in primary school. The theoretical part focused on writing language skills, types of exercises and strategies suitable for its development. It also describes the didactic principles of working with literature in foreign language teaching and the specifics of literature for children and youth. The empirical part presents the research design, its participants and the methodology used to collect and evaluate research data. The obtained data are evaluated using data triangulation, which reflects them from three different perspectives. Finally, the results are discussed with regard to their use in practice.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá využitím literárních textů ve výuce němčiny jako cizího jazyka za účelem zkoumaní jejich potenciálu k rozvoji jazykových dovedností. Cílem práce je zjistit zda má navržená didaktizace jedné z kapitol knihy "Neu in der Stadt" potenciál k rozvoji jazykové dovednosti psaní v rámci výuky němčiny jako cizího jazyka na základní škole. Teoretická část se věnuje jazykové dovednosti psaní, typům cvičení a strategiím vhodným k jejímu rozvoji. Dále pak popisuje didaktické principy práce s literaturou ve výuce cizího jazyka a specifika literatury určené pro děti a mládež. V empirické části je představen design výzkumu, jeho účastníci a použitá metodologie ke sběru a vyhodnocování výzkumných dat. Získaná data jsou vyhodnocována pomocí triangulace dat, která je reflektuje ze tří různých perspektiv. Na závěr jsou výsledky prodiskutovány s ohledem na jejich použití v praxi.
