Linguistic view of the world. Doctors - their perception by children

Abstract:

V popředí zájmu této práce jsou směry strukturalismus, komunikativismus a kognitivismus. Zabýváme se jejich lingvistickými přístupy. Dále se snažíme objasnit pojem jazykový obraz světa, který je východiskem této práce. Na závěr teoretické části hovoříme o metaforách, jejichž problematika je jedním ze základních aspektů kognitivní lingvistiky. Stěžejní je praktická část, která se zabývá dětskou jazykovou vizí lékařů a dalších pracovníků ve zdravotnictví. V praktické části vycházíme z kvantitativního výzkumu, který jsme uskutečnili v roce 2009 a k následujícímu zpracování dotazníků jsme využili metody kognitivní lingvistiky. Cílem je určit, jaké jazykové prostředky související s lékaři tvoří centrum a periférii slovní zásoby respondentů ve věku 11-15 let.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on structuralism, komunikativismus and cognitivism. We deal with their lingvistic attitudes. Next, we try to explain the term and approach of lingvistic picture of the world which is a starting point of this thesis. At the end of the theoretical part we speak about metaphors whose problems are one of the basic aspects of cognitive lingvistics. The pivotal point is the practical part which deals with children´s lingvistic vision of doctors and other health professionals. The practical part is based on quantitave research which we did in 2009 and for processing questionnaires we used methods of cognitive lingvistics. The target was to find out what language means associated with doctors are the center and periphery of vocabulary of respondents aged 11 ? 15.
