Adapting teaching to students with behavioral and emotional disorders (ADHD)

Abstract:

Práce propojuje zkušenosti získané letitou praxí ve speciální škole pro zdravotně znevýhodněné s teoretickými poznatky z pomezí pedagogiky, speciální a sociální pedagogiky, psychologie a didaktiky. Spíše než porovnávat jednotlivé metody a dělit je následujících stranách na účinné a neúčinné, již v průběhu sbírání dat autorka, po konzultaci se školní výchovnou poradkyní, do dokumentu vyselektovala ty, s nimiž se po dobu působení ve školním prostředí, nejen setkala, ale především zažila jejich reálný dopad. Jakožto výzkumnou metodu, místo kvantitativních dotazníkových metod, lze hovořit spíše o letitém hloubkovém průzkumu. Je třeba však mít na paměti, že každé dítě, dospívající, dospělí i kolektiv je jiný a to, co fungovalo ve zkoumané třídě, nemusí mít stejný dopad v obdobně sestavené skupině. Naopak, není výjimkou síla vlivu prostředí a doprovodných událostí, kdy totožná metoda, jež na jedno konkrétní dítě fungovala v prostředí školy, se na lyžařském výcviku zcela míjela účinkem. Děti nejsou statické. Speciálně pak ty s ADHD. Pohledem asistenta pedagoga, jež mezi dětmi s ADHD a dalšími přidruženými poruchami, je třeba zdůraznit, že konkrétně u ADHD se setkáváme spíše s dětmi nepochopenými, než zcela nezvladatelnými. Je v nejvyšším zájmu dítěte, rodiny i školy, aby si všechny subjekty věnovaly dostatek prostoru k naslouchání potřeb druhých, respektu a hlavně navzájem spolupracovali. Ukázkovým příkladem je trojnožka, lze na ní sedět – bezpečně a pevně, ale pouze za předpokladu, že všechny tři nohy plní svoji funkci.

Abstract:

The work combines the experience gained through years of experience in a special school for the disabled with theoretical knowledge from the boundaries of pedagogy, special and social pedagogy, psychology and didactics. Rather than comparing the various methods and dividing them into effective and ineffective in the following pages, the author, in consultation with the school counselor, selected in the document those she had encountered during the school environment and not only experienced their real impact. As a research method, instead of quantitative questionnaire methods, we can talk about years of in-depth research. However, it should be borne in mind that every child, adolescent, adult and team is different and what worked in the study class may not have the same impact in a similar group. On the contrary, the strength of the influence of the environment and accompanying events is no exception, when the same method, which worked for one specific child in the school environment, completely missed the effect on ski training. Children are not static. Especially those with ADHD. From the point of view of the teaching assistant, who among children with ADHD and other associated disorders, it should be emphasized that in ADHD in particular, we encounter children who are misunderstood rather than completely unmanageable. It is in the best inte-rest of the child, family and school that all subjects devote enough space to listening to the needs of others, respect and, most importantly, cooperation with each other. An exemplary example is a tripod, you can sit on it - safely and firmly, but only if all three legs perform their function.
