Hlavní histokompatibilitní komplex (major histocompatibility complex) je zajímavou skupinou genů přítomných u všech čelistnatých obratlovců. Nejdůležitější úlohou těchto genů je prezentace antigenů buňkám imunitního systému, i když se v tomto genetickém komplexu nacházejí také jiné geny, z nichž některé se podílejí na různých imunitních funkcích a další mají funkce neimunitní.
