Abstract:

KALASHNIKOV, Ivan. Dopad finanční krize na vybranou společnost. [Bakalářská práce]. Vysoká škola hotelová v Praze. Praha 2017. 46 stran. Účel této bakalářské práce je identifikovat dopad světové finanční krize v letech 2007-2008 na společnost “Marriott International, Inc.” a doporučeni, jak by mohli ostatní společnosti v oblasti pohostinství snížit tento dopad finanční krize podle výsledků výzkumu. Identifikace tohoto dopadu byla provedena na základě finanční analýzy hlavního finančního prohlášení, kterými jsou finanční rozvaha, výsledovka a přehled peněžních toků. Finanční analýza byla provedena použitím analýzy poměru, jakou jsou výdělečnost, likvidita, vliv a provozní poměr. Navíc byla provedena analýza společné velikosti (také nazývána Trendová analýza) sestavena z horizontálních a vertikálních analýz. Data finanční analýzy byly shromážděné na základě oficiální každoroční finanční zprávy společnosti “Marriott International, Inc.” která je zveřejněna a je volně dostupná na oficiálních webových stránkách společnosti z období roku 2006 až do roku 2010. Analýza byla udělána z období pěti let, zahrnující jeden rok před krizí a dva po z důvodu přesněji identifikovat dopad, tím pádem vytvořit přesnější doporučení. Výsledek výzkumu demonstruje, že finanční aktivity společnosti, které měli tendenci zvyšovaní ziskovosti v roce 2006 a 2007, byli dramaticky ovlivněny finanční krizí, čímž způsobily obrovské ztráty v roce 2009. Z toho vyplívá, že je pro společnosti doporučeno býti připraveny na finanční krizi použiti proaktivní strategie, ještě před vypuknutím krize, použitím strategie řízení krize, zahrnující snížení nákladů během finanční krize.

KALASHNIKOV, Ivan. The Impact of Financial Crisis on a Selected Company. [Bachelor’s dissertation]. Institute of Hospitality Management in Prague. Prague 2017. 46 pages. The purpose of this bachelor thesis was to identify impact of world financial crisis 2007-2008 on a “Marriott International, Inc” company and according to the results of the research to produce recommendations that could help other hospitality companies to decrease impact of possible financial crisis. Identification of this impact was carried out on the basis of financial analysis of the main financial statements, which are Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flow. Financial analysis was performed using analysis of ratios, such as profitability, liquidity, leverage and operating ratios. In addition, was produced common-size analysis (also called as trend analysis), consisting of horizontal and vertical analysis. The data for financial analysis were collected from official annual financial reports of “Marriott International, Inc” published and freely available on the main official website of the company, for the period from 2006 to 2010. Analysis was made for the period of five years, including pre-crisis year and two years after with the reason to identify impact more accurately and thus to form more precise recommendations. The result of the research demonstrates that company financial activity that has positive tendency of increasing of company profitability in 2006 and 2007, was affected by the financial crisis dramatically, resulting in a decline of profits and leading to huge net losses in 2009. Thus, it is recommended for the companies to be prepared for the financial crisis by means of applying of proactive strategy before crisis occurred and applying of crisis management strategy, including costs reduction during the financial crisis.
