The Development of Information Literacy in the Educational Practice of Elementary School Applying Montessori Pedagogy: A Case Study

Abstract:

Tato výzkumná bakalářská diplomová práce, která je na pomezí informační a pedagogické vědy, se za použití výzkumného designu případové studie snaží ukázat, jakým způsobem je rozvíjena informační gramotnost v základní škole, jež ve své edukační praxi uplatňuje Montessori pedagogiku. V úvodu práce autor popisuje teoretická východiska, snaží se vysvětlit fenomén informační společnosti a informační gramotnosti a přiblížit kontext jejich vzniku i vývoje. Patřičnou pozornost věnuje rovněž otázce zakotvení pojmu informační gramotnost v relevantních kurikulárních dokumentech. Praktická část pak poskytuje analýzu dat, která byla získána rozborem školního vzdělávacího programu případové školy, při nezúčastněném pozorování a v řízeném rozhovoru. Za použití metodiky vyvinuté Českou školní inspekcí se pak autor pokouší odhadnout dosaženou úroveň informační gramotnosti u žáků 6. ročníků případové školy.

Abstract:

This thesis, which concerns information and pedagogical science, uses the research design of a case study to show how information literacy is developed in primary school which applies Montessori pedagogy in its educational practice. In the introduction, the author describes the theoretical background, he tries to explain the phenomenon of information society and information literacy and to bring the reader closer to the context of their origin and development during the time. He also pays due attention to the issue of integrating information literacy in relevant curricular documents. The practical part of thesis provides an analysis of data that were obtained by analyzing the curriculum of the case school, during the observation and in interview. Using the methodology developed by the Czech School Inspectorate, the author tries to assess the level of information literacy of 6th grade students.
