Communication skills of a child with a cochlear implant

Abstract:

V diplomové práci nazvané „Komunikační dovednosti u dítěte s kochleárním implantátem“ je zpracována problematika sluchového postižení a kompenzační pomůcky zvané kochleární implantát. Práce je členěna do čtyř kapitol. V první kapitole jsou vymezena teoretická východiska sluchového postižení, klasifikace, komunikační systémy a kompenzační pomůcky pro osoby se sluchovým postižením. Podstatnou část práce věnuji kochleárnímu implantátu. Zabývám se jeho stavbou a technickými parametry. Stěžejní část je zaměřena na rehabilitační proces dětí s kochleárním implantátem. Jedná se o proces mnohdy dlouhodobý. Postupné výsledky implantace jsou ovlivňovány možnými pozitivními či negativními faktory. Mnohé z těchto faktorů nelze předem odhadnout. V poslední praktické kapitole diplomové práce jsem se zaměřila na komunikační kompetence dětí s kochleárním implantátem. Kochleární implantát je sofistikovaná technická pomůcka, která umožní osobám se sluchovým postižením školskou i společenskou integraci.

Abstract:

In the diploma thesis called „Communication skills of a child with a cochlear implant“. I have dealt with the problem of hearing disability and the compensation instrument called Cochlear implant. The thesis consists of four sections. In the first chapter there are specified theoretical solutions to hearing disability, classification, communication systems and compensation instruments for people with hearing disability. An important part of the diploma is dedicated to cochlear implant. I deal with its structure and technical parameters. The essential section of the thesis is focused on a rehabilitation of children with cochlear implant. It is frequently a long term process. The results of implantation are influenced by various positive and negative factors. Many of these factors cannot be recognized beforhand. In the last, practical part of the thesis I paid attention to communication competences of children with cochlear implant. Cochlear implant is a sophisticated technical instrument, which enables auditorily disabled persons to educate and integrate in society.
