Comparison Study of Two Native Cultures (Ndebele and Kayan)

Abstract:

Tato práce porovnává dvě geograficky oddělená etnika: jihoafrické Ndebely a barmské Kayany. Oba kmeny spojuje stejný kulturní projev žen; je to nošení ozdobných kruhů a spirál na krku, pažích a nohou. V každém etniku k tomu ale mají jiný důvod. Ve své práci se budu zabývat právě těmito rozdílnými důvody, ale také historií obou etnik od jejich příchodu na současné území, jejich úlohou v politickém vývoji, dnešním postavením ve společnosti a státě, kulturou a zvyky a přírodními podmínkami, ve kterých žijí. Práce je zpracována na základě studia odborné literatury a výpovědí dvou osob, které přišly do přímého kontaktu s oběma etniky.

Abstract:

This bachelor`s work compares two ethnic groups which are geographically separeted: South African Ndebele and Burmese Kayan. These tribes have a common cultural attribute which is that women wear brass or copper rings or spirals around their necks, arms and legs. But the reason is different in each group. In the following text I will study these differences, the history of both tribes from the first settlement till present, the culture and habits, historical contributions and political and natural conditions in which they live now. The bachelor`s work is based on the study of scientific literature and information from two visitors to these ethnic groups.
