This bachelor thesis deals with the relationship between popular songs from the Forrest Gump soundtrack and the history of the United States of America between the 1950s and the 1970s. The work takes into account the underlying assumption that for viewers who are not familiar with US history, the depiction of history in the film is often inadequate.
