Karbapenemy jsou jako antibiotika poslední záchrany používány zejména k léčbě závažných nozokomiálních infekcí. V posledních deseti letech narůstá rezistence bakterií k této důležité skupině antibiotik, a to zejména díky schopnosti bakterií produkovat enzymy karbapenemázy, která tato antibiotika degradují. Abstract:
Carbapenems are used as last resort antibiotics, especially for the treatment of severe nosocomial infections. In the last ten years, bacterial resistance to this important group of antibiotics has been growing, mainly due to the ability of bacteria to produce carbapenemase enzymes that degrade these antibiotics.
