Gender stereotypes in social work from the perspective of students of social work on FSE UJEP

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na genderové stereotypy v sociální práci z pohledu studentů oboru sociální práce na Univerzitě Jana Evangelisty Purkyně v Ústí nad Labem. Hlavním cílem této práce je pomocí kvantitativního výzkumu (technikou anonymního dotazníku) zmapovat pohled studentů sociální práce na genderové stereotypy v sociální práci, jejich vnímání výuky a na základě výsledků výzkumu navrhnout případné změny ve vzdělávání sociálních pracovníků. Obsahem teoretické části práce je objasnění pojmu gender a pojmů s ním spojených. Vysvětluji zde pojmy jako genderová identita, genderové role, genderová socializace, genderový kontrakt, genderové stereotypy, zabývám se zde také genderem v souvislosti s volbou povolání a především genderem a genderovými stereotypy v sociální práci. Výzkumná část práce zahrnuje analýzu genderových stereotypů v sociální práci z pohledu studentů oboru sociální práce a návrhy na opatření ke zmírnění genderových stereotypů. Práce může sloužit odborné i široké veřejnosti k porozumění genderové problematiky a k uvědomění si genderových stereotypů v sociální práci. Získaná data mohou přispět k rozšíření výzkumu a ke zmírnění genderových stereotypů v sociální práci.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis is focused on gender stereotypes in social work from the perspective of students majoring in social work at the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem. The main objective of this study is to map a view social work students on gender stereotypes in social work, their perception of teaching and the results of the research suggest possible changes in the training of social workers by the quantitative research (anonymous questionnaire technique). The theoretical part of the thesis is to clarify the concept of gender and concepts associated with it. I explain concepts such as gender identity, gender roles, gender socialization, gender contract, gender stereotypes, I also deal with gender in relation to occupational choice and especially gender and gender stereotypes in social work. The research part includes analysis of gender stereotypes in social work from the perspective of students majoring in social work and proposals for measures to alleviate gender stereotypes. The work may serve professional public and the general public to understand gender issues and to realize gender stereotypes in social work. Collected data can contribute to the expansion of research and to reduce gender stereotypes in social work.
