The quality of life of chronically ill elderly

Abstract:

Cíl: Hlavním cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit kvalitu života seniorů s chronickým onemocněním oběhové, pohybové nebo endokrinní soustavy hospitalizovaných na interním oddělení Nemocnice ve Frýdku-Místku. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 96 seniorů s chronickým onemocněním oběhové, pohybové nebo endokrinní soustavy, kteří byli v době sběru dat hospitalizováni na interním oddělení Nemocnice ve Frýdku-Místku a splňovali kritéria pro zařazení do výzkumu. Dotazníkové šetření (srpen?říjen 2015) bylo realizováno Dotazníkem kvality života SQUALA. Výsledky: Pacienti s chronickým onemocněním mají nižší kvalitu života než běžná populace. Z vyhodnocení dotazníku SQUALA vyplývá, že respondenti byli nejméně spokojeni s oblastmi, které se týkaly jejich rodinných vztahů, lásky, sexuálního života, spánku, vztahů s ostatními lidmi, odpočinku a koníčků. Nebyl zjištěn statisticky významný vztah mezi kvalitou života u mužů a u žen v žádné sledované doméně a nebyl zjištěn statisticky významný vztah v doménách podle věku. V hodnocení kvality života seniorů v závislosti na soběstačnosti byl prokázán statisticky významný vztah u všech domén kromě domény Abstraktní hodnoty. V hodnocení kvality života seniorů v závislosti na hmotném zabezpečení nebyl zjištěn statisticky významný vztah pouze u domény Volný čas. Závěr: Kvalitu života ovlivňuje mnoho faktorů, zdravotní stav je pouze jedním z nich. Senioři s chronickým onemocněním kladou větší důraz na kvalitu a úroveň mezilidských vztahů. Věk a pohlaví seniora s chronickým onemocněním nemá vliv na subjektivní hodnocení kvality života. Soběstačnost seniora a hmotné zabezpečení ovlivňuje kvalitu života seniora téměř ve všech směrech, nemusí se prolínat do všech oblastí jeho života.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of the diploma thesis was to find out the quality of life of the elderly suffering from a chronic disease of circulatory, locomotive and endocrine systems who were hospitalized in the internal ward in the hospital in Frýdek-Místek. Researching methods: 96 elderly with a chronic disease of circulatory, locomotive and endocrine systems made the research group. These people were hospitalized in the internal ward in the hospital in Frýdek-Místek in the period when the data for this thesis were being collected and who met the criteria and were integrated into the research. The research questionnaire survey (August?October 2015) was realised by way of the Quality Life Questionnaiere SQUALA. Results: The patients with a chronic disease live less quality life than prevalent population. The research shows that the respondents were the least satisfied with the fields regarding family relationships, love, sex life, sleeping, human relations, relaxing and hobbies. In the research any statistically significant relation between the quality of life of men and women in any of the monitored domains has not been found out. Even, any statistically significant relation in the domains according to the age has not been found out. In the evaluation of the quality of life of the elderly regarding their self-sufficiency the statistically significant relation in all the domains except the Abstract value has been proved. In the evaluation of the quality of life of the elderly regarding their material security any statistically significant relation has not been found out only in the domain of Leisure time. Conclusion: The quality of life is influenced by many factors, the state of health is only one of them. The elderly with a chronic disease put a great emphasis ont the quality of human relations. The age and sex of the elderly with a chronic disease has no influence on the subjective evaluation of the quality of life. The self-sufficiency and material security influence the elderly quality of life almost in all the respects. However, it does not have to shade into all areas of his/her life.
