Position of Staropramen Brewery on Market

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Postavení společnosti Pivovary Staropramen na trhu analyzuje a porovnává finanční ukazatele a jeho postavení na trhu v jednotlivých pivních skupinách a portfoliích oproti konkurenčním společnostem působícím na trhu. V teoretické části je představena hlavní sledovaná společnost, její nadnárodní vlastník Molson Coors a její konkurenti. Jsou zde stručně charakterizované suroviny pro výrobu piva a vývoj pivovarnictví v Čechách. Dále je v teoretické části znázorněn vývoj spotřební daně, značení piva, vývoj výstavu a exportu piva celé ČR.V úvodu praktické části je provedeno porovnání společností na základě vybraných finančních ukazatelů, zisku na jednotku produkce, produktivity práce, zaměstnanosti a bankrotních modelů dle výročních zpráv společností. Na tuto část poté navazuje porovnávání společnosti Pivovary Staropramen, s.r.o. s ostatními konkurenčními pivovary v oblasti produkce, exportu a jednotlivých, nejenom pivních, produktových portfolií. V závěrečné části jsou shrnuty veškeré výsledky analýz a zjištěné poznatky z výpočtů a srovnání.

Abstract:

The dissertation thesis bearing the name Position of Staropramen Brewery on Market analyses and compares financial indicators and its position on the current market in individual brewery groups and portfolios compared to rival active companies. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the main analyzed company is introduced, its transnational owner Molson Coors and its rival companies. Also, the ingredients for brewing beer are briefly discussed along with the evolution of brewing in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the theoretical part also includes a discussion about the evolution of the excise tax, the labeling of beer and the export of beer across the Czech Republic.In the preface of the practical part, the comparison of companies is made based on selected financial pointers, the profit on a single unit of production, productivness, employment rate and bank models according to annual reports of given companies. This part is then followed up by the comparison of The Staropramen Brewery s.r.o with other rival breweries in the area of production, export and individual, not only beer related production portoflios. In the final part of the thesis all data is analyzed and the results from various calculations and comparisons are finalized.
