Nuclear fusion - safety and enviromental impact

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce je zaměřena na základní principy termojaderné fúze. Jaderná fúze je poměrně nový, ale zatím průmyslově nevyužívaný zdroj energie s velkým potenciálem. Předmětem této práce je také studie fúzních termojaderných zařízení využívající magnetické udržení plazmatu. Bakalářská práce pojednává o dvou projektech. První je celosvětově nejvýznamnější projekt ITER ve Francii a druhý projekt Compass v Praze, který je nejdůležitější pro Českou republiku. V rámci studie Compassu jsou taktéž popsány některé prováděné diagnostiky s výzkumným zaměřením. Kromě technických principů se tato práce zabývá rovněž bezpečností těchto zařízení a jejich vlivem na životní prostředí. Na konci této práce je analyzován budoucí vývoj termojaderné fúze jako možný zdroj energie.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis presents the essential principles of thermonuclear fusion. Nuclear fusion is quite a new source of energy with huge potential, but there has not been any industrial application of this technology. The subject of this thesis is also to study thermonuclear fusion devices, which are use magnetic confinement of plasma. The bachelor´s thesis deals with two projects. The first is the most significant project worldwide, i.e. ITER in France and the other one is Compass in Prague, which is the most important project of this kind in the Czech republic. In the study of Compass, the applied research diagnostics are described, too. In addition to the technical principles, this thesis deals with the safety of these devices and with their environmental impact. At the end of this work the development of fusion is analyzed, in terms of its future application as a possible energy source.
