V současné době doznává právní úprava v oblasti ochrany ovzduší jistých změn souvisejících do značné míry s implementací evropské směrnice o kvalitě vnějšího ovzduší a čistším ovzduší pro Evropu. Nowadays the legislation on the air protection is amending in connection with the implementation of European Directive on ambient air quality and cleaner air for Europe.
