The activities of Czech writers in the Period of Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia and the explanation of this issues in literature lessons

Abstract:

Disertační práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí: literárně-historické a didaktické, jim předchází kratší kapitola týkající se metodiky a filosofické pozice badatele, na jejichž základě je získaný materiál zpracováván. Cílem mé disertace je představit období druhé republiky a Protektorátu Čechy a Morava (PČM) z pohledu literárního historika a předložit návrh, jak by bylo možné danou problematiku interpretovat v hodinách literární výchovy. Jednotlivé kapitoly by měly přinést ucelený pohled na činnost českých spisovatelů v období PČM, na to, co přímo zásadně ovlivňovalo jejich tvorbu i životy, tedy cenzuru a její zásahy, nařízení a požadavky německých úřadů, ale i podporu ze strany Ministerstva lidové osvěty v podobě finančních příspěvků a odměn. V didaktické části předkládám pracovní listy s výňatky z uměleckých i neuměleckých textů, které mapují zlomové okamžiky druhé republiky i Protektorátu: podpis mnichovské dohody, březnovou okupaci Československa, příjezd Reinharda Heydrich a realizace jeho reforem, důsledky řešení tzv. židovské otázky a konec okupace.

Abstract:

The dissertation is divided into two main parts: literary-historical and didactic. They are preceded by a shorter chapter related to the methodology and philosophical position of the researcher, based on which the material gained has been processed. The aim of individual chapters is to bring a comprehensive view of the activity of Czech writers in the era of PBM, a view of what directly influenced their output in a fundamental way, i.e. censorship and its interventions, regulations and demands of German authorities; but also the support from Ministry of Public Enlightenment in the form of financial benefits and rewards. The second, didactic, part of the dissertation is designed as a proposal of worksheets on text interpretation in lessons of literature. In this part I present the worksheets with extracts from artistic and non-artistic texts mapping the turning points of the Second Czechoslovak Republic and the Protectorate: signing the Munich Agreement, March occupation Czechoslovakia, arrival of Reinhard Heydrich and realization of his reforms, consequences of the solution of the so-called Jewish Question and the end of occupation.
