The Quality of life of people who take care of people with mental disability

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá kvalitou života osob pečujících o osobu s mentálním postižením. Cílem této práce je zjistit, do jaké míry a jakým způsobem je ovlivňována kvalita života osob, které pečují o osoby s mentálním postižením. Ve své práci se zabývám kvalitou života, mentální retardací a její klasifikací a dále rodinou dítěte s mentálním postižením. Vlastní kvalitativní výzkum jsem provedla na vzorku rodinných příslušníků pečujících o osobu s mentálním postižením. Práce přibližuje kvalitu života osob, které pečují o mentálně postižené a snaží se přiblížit nám jejich život.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis deals with the quality of life of people who care for a person with mental disabilities. The goal of this study is to determine how it is affecting the quality of life of people who care for persons with mental disabilities. I focused on parents, mostly on mothers. For the research I used a qualitative research strategy. I have chosen semi-structured interview. The sample consisted of five families who care for people with mental disabilities, selected on the basis of availability. This thesis shows the quality of life of people who care for the mentally disabled and tries to approach us their lives.
