The view of the diets of athletes in antiquity
Abstract:
Bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá stravou antických atletů v rámci jejich sportovní přípravy na závody. V úvodu jsou pro lepší představu popsány počátky sportu v Řecku a Římě. Práce informuje především o dietě atletů lehkých a těžkých disciplín a o stravě gladiátorů. Zabývá se však i historií dopingu ve sportu a sportovní medicínou. Abstract:
This bachelor’s diploma thesis deals with the diets of athletes in the antiquity in their preparation for races. For a better notion the beginnings of sport in Greece and Rome are described in the introduction. The thesis informs about the diet of athletes of light and heavy disciplines and about the diet of gladiators. It also deals with the history of doping in sports and sports medicine.
