Technical translation on fairs - analysis of the translations of advertising materials on the example of the company Vagonka Interiors s.r.o.

Abstract:

This thesis applies one's mind to Technical translation on fairs (the translation of advertising materials will be shown only marginally). All this will be exemplified of advertising materials from Vagonka Interiors, which produce components for interiors of public transport vehicles, this company was participated twice in fair InnoTrans in Berlin. The priority will be given to advertising materials, which have the company translated to English, but I think, translation to mother tongue can lead up to a better understanding of the text. In the thesis are present theoretical knowledge of translation at first, technical language and technical terminology, after that information about fairs will be shown and the company Vagonka Interiors s.r.o. will be presented. The aim of this work is to show the process of solving translation problems, show aids which can be useful to the translators of this type of the text and whether is possible to translate such texts without of the technical foundations.

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce se zabývá odborným překladem na trzích (jen okrajově bude uvedena také problematika překladů reklamních textů). Tohle vše bude uvedeno na příkladu propagačních textů od firmy Vagonka Interiors, která se zabývá výrobou interiérů kolejových vozidel, tato firma se již dvakrát zúčastnila mezinárodního veletrhu InnoTrans v Berlíně. Přednost bude věnována propagačním materiálům, které si firma nechala přeložit pouze do anglického jazyka, ale překlad do mateřského jazyka může vést k lepšímu porozumění textu. V práci jsou nejprve uvedeny teoretické poznatky týkající se překladu, odborného jazyka a odborné terminologie, dále je pak nastíněna historie a veškeré informace o veletrzích a také představena firma Vagonka Interiors. Cílem této práce je ukázat postup při řešení překladatelských problémů, ukázat pomůcky, které mohou být překladateli tohoto druhu textu k ruce a zdali je možné překládat takové texty bez odborných základů.
