Rehabilitation of male patients with stroke: assessment of disability

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením vlivu rehabilitační léčby na disabilitu u pacientů mužů po cévní mozkové příhodě hospitalizovaných na Doléčovacím a rehabilitačním oddělení Fakultní nemocnice u sv. Anny v Brně v průměrné délce 71 dní (SD ± 29,97). V rámci vybraného souboru bylo vyšetřeno 26 pacientů s průměrným věkem 71,6 let (SD ± 11,1). Jako prostředek vyšetření byl použit FIM test (Functional Independence Measure), který je vhodný k hodnocení disability. U pacientů bylo provedeno vyšetření před zahájením rehabilitace a po jejím ukončení. V rámci diplomové práce byly jednotlivými položkami FIM testu hodnoceny také každodenní činnosti pacientů. Dále byl porovnáván vliv rehabilitace na disabilitu u skupiny pacientů po cévní mozkové příhodě ischemického typu a skupiny pacientů po cévní mozkové příhodě hemoragického typu. Nakonec byla posuzovaná i míra efektivity rehabilitace v závislosti na věku pacientů. Ke statistickému zpracování získaných dat byl použit program Statistica StatSoft verze 12 a program Microsoft Excel verze 2010. Diplomová práce prokázala, že ucelená rehabilitační léčba u těchto pacientů vedla ke snížení disability a zlepšení funkční nezávislosti.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the evaluation of the impact of rehabilitation treatment on disability for male patients after a stroke hospitalized at the After-care and rehabilitation department at the University Hospital of St. Anna in Brno. The average length of treatment was 71 days (SD ± 29.97). Within the selected file were examined 26 patients with a mean age of 71.6 years (SD ± 11.1). For testing were used FIM (Functional Independence Measure), which is suitable for assessment of disability. Patients were examined before the start of the comprehensive rehabilitation and after the end of rehabilitation. Patient’s daily activities were exanimated trough FIM test. Furthermore, effects of rehabilitation on disability in a group of patients after ischemic stroke type and a group of patients after hemorrhagic stroke type were compared. At the end, the degrees of effectiveness of rehabilitation depending on the age of the patients were assessed. The statistical evaluation of the data obtained was used StatSoft Statistica software version 12 and Microsoft Excel version 2010. This thesis has demonstrated that comprehensive rehabilitation therapies in these patients has led to a reduction in disability and improve functional independence.
