The factors influencing the quantity of essential oil

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřena na faktory ovlivňující množství silice v léčivých a kořeninových rostlinách. Sledovanými faktory byl termín sklizně rostlin a posklizňová úprava rostlin. Termín sklizně byl na počátku kvetení a v plném květu. Zvolená posklizňová úprava byla čerstvá rostlina a sušená rostlina. Silice byla získána pomocí destilace vodní parou dle modifikované metodiky uvedené v Českém lékopise 2017. Výzkum probíhal na Ústavu zelinářství a květinářství na Zahradnické fakultě Mendelovy univerzity v Brně se sídlem v Lednici. Nejnižší obsah silice byl zjištěn u čerstvé rostliny Ocimum basilicum ‘Lettuce Leaf‘ ve fázi plného květu. Nejvyšší obsah silice byl zjištěn u druhu Origanum vulgare ‘Hot and Spicy‘ ve fázi počátečního kvetení při destilaci čerstvé rostliny. Vyššího obsahu silice bylo dosaženo u rostlin v plném květu než u rostlin na počátku kvetení. Z pohledu posklizňových úprav bylo vyššího obsahu silice dosaženo u čerstvých rostlin než u sušených.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on factors influencing the quantity of essential oil in medicinal and spicy plants. The observed factors were harvest date and post-harvest treatment of plants. The plants were harvested at the begining of flowering and in full blooming. The post-harvest treatment was fresh plant and dried plant. The essential oil was obtained by steam distillation according to the modified methodology in the Czech Pharmacopoeia 2017. The research took palce at Mendel University in Brno, the Department of Vegetable Growing and Floriculture at the Faculty of Horticulture, in Lednice. The lowest essential oil content was in the fresh plant Ocimum basilicum ‘Lettuce Leaf‘ in full blooming. The highest essential oil content was in Origanum vulgare ‘Hot and Spicy‘ at the stage of begining of flowering in a fresh plant. The content of essential oil was higher in planst in full blooming than in planst at the beginning of flowering. The content of essential oil was higher in fresh plants than in dried plants.
