The coming-out process by homosexuals

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tím, jak probíhá proces coming outu u homosexuálů. Teoretická část řeší homosexualitu v kontextu sociální pedagogiky, vymezuje základní pojmy s homosexualitou spojené, popisuje rozdíly mezi mužskou a ženkou homosexualitou, nazírání na homosexualitu z hlediska společensky platných norem, a v návaznosti na to se zabývá stěžejním tématem, tedy coming outem, především jednotlivými fázemi tohoto procesu. Důraz je zde kladen na vnitřní a vnější coming out. Práce má teoreticko-empirický charakter, přičemž prostřednictvím hloubkových polostrukturovaných rozhovorů zjišťuje, jak samotní homosexuálové prožívají svůj coming out. Zaměřuje se především na to, jak se homosexuálové ztotožňují se svou sexuální orientací, jakým způsobem zveřejňují svoji sexuální orientaci, a jak vnímají reakce okolí po zveřejnění své sexuální orientace.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the process of coming out as far as homosexuals are concerned. The theoretical part deals with homosexuality in the context of social pedagogy, defines the basic concepts associated with homosexuality, describes the differences between male and female homosexuality, looks at homosexuality in terms of social standards, and consequently deals with the central theme, that is the coming-out process, especially the individual phases of this process. Special emphasis is placed on the internal and external process of coming out. The thesis is of a theoretical and empirical nature, and through partly structured detailed interviews describes how the homosexuals perceive their own coming out. It focuses mainly on how the homosexuals themselves identify with their sexual orientation, how they disclose their sexual orientation, and how they perceive the reaction of the society after they make their sexual orientation public.
