Japanese Adaptation of the Horror Book "Ring" and its American Remake

Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce porovnává původní knižní vydání japonského hororu "Kruh" a dvě z jeho filmových adaptací; japonskou a americkou, a to s pomocí analýzy přístupu jednotlivých autorů k příslušným verzím. Práce se konkrétně zaměřuje na postavy, narativ, téma, styl, nadpřirozený prvek a jejich srovnání v daných dílech.
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis compares original Japanese horror book "Ring" and its two movie adaptations; Japanese and American, by analysing the approach of each autor to their respective version. The thesis is particularly focused on characters, narrative, theme, style, supernatural element and their comparison in these works.
