Abstract:

Diploma thesis “Jazz Chants in English Language Teaching” deals with utilization of music in English language learning. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part presents methodologies and pieces of research that support the use of Jazz Chants in the lessons. Then the thesis focuses on activities connected with Jazz Chants that can be used in the lessons. The main part of the thesis includes lesson plans that deal with teaching different Jazz Chants to students on different levels of language knowledge. Lesson plans are created to be reused and adapted according to the needs of the teacher.
