History and Present of the Polytraumatized Patient from Paramedic's Perspective

Abstract:

Polytrauma patří mezi častá úmrtí mladistvých a osob mladého věku. Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na historický a současný vývoj polytraumatu v přednemocniční neodkladné péči z pohledu zdravotnického záchranáře. Cílem této práce je nastínit, jak postupem času docházelo k rozvoji pomůcek, technik a postupů od historie až po současnost a zároveň porovnat některé obecné postupy v ošetřování a léčbě pacienta v rozmezí několika let. Práce je psána jako teoretická a je rozdělena na dvě hlavní kapitoly. První kapitola práce obsahuje definici polytraumatu, obecnou charakteristiku a způsoby, jakými může k polytraumatu dojít. V první kapitole se dále popisuje, jak k polytraumatu dochází, kritéria triage pozitivity a algoritmy, podle kterých lze systematicky postupovat na místě události. V závěru první části se pojednává o směřování pacienta k definitivnímu ošetření. Druhá kapitola je zaměřená na popis obecné historie ošetřování raněných. Následně je v druhé kapitole rozepsán postup a vývoj do jednotlivých podkapitol historie a současnosti. V kapitolách týkající se historie a současnosti je popsán přístup, pomůcky a postupy při ošetřování polytraumatizovaných pacientů podle algoritmu xABCDE.

Abstract:

Polytrauma is one of the common deaths of adolescents and young adults. This bachelor thesis is focused on the historical and contemporary development of polytrauma in pre-hospital emergency care from the perspective of the paramedic. The aim of this thesis is to outline how aids, techniques and procedures have evolved over time from history to the present and also to compare some general practices in patient care and treatment over a period of years. The thesis is written as a theoretical work and divided into two main chapters. The first chapter of the thesis contains a definition of polytrauma, general characteristics and the ways in which polytrauma can occur. The first chapter then discusses how polytrauma occurs, triage positivity criteria and algorithms that can be systematically followed at the scene. The first section concludes with a discussion of referring the patient for definitive treatment. The second section is focused on describing the general history of wound care. Subsequently, the second chapter discusses the procedure and development into subchapters of history and the present. The history and present day chapters describe the approach, tools and procedures for treating polytraumatized patients according to the xABCDE algorithm.
