The People's Republic of China and its foreign policy priorities

Abstract:

The issue of the expansion of the People's Republic of China has become significant in the field of international relations in the last decade. More and more often, they stimulate discussions on the topic of the so-called "Chinese threat", in connection with the potential threat to world security. The growing influence of the People's Republic of China, both regionally and globally, is hard to deny. The political elites of the People's Republic of China project the future of the country based on three goals. The first goal is to ensure the global position of the economic leader and replace the USA in the first position. The second and at the same time related goal is to gain the status of a valued and respected actor that is able to balance global power tensions with the help of its commercial and economic power. The third goal is to harmonize regional commercial and ideological fragmentation and thus minimize the influence of the USA in the current Pacific region. The main goal of the presented work is to analyze the international political position of the People's Republic of China in contemporary international relations. The work is also intended to examine the foreign policy priority of the People's Republic of China with an emphasis on relations with the USA, Russia and the European Union.

Abstract:

Otázka expanzie Čínskej ľudovej republiky sa v poslednom desaťročí stala signifikantnou na poli medzinárodných vzťahov. Stále častejšie sa podnecujú diskusie na tému takzvanej „čínskej hrozby“, a to v spojitosti s potenciálnym ohrozením svetovej bezpečnosti. Rastúci vplyv Čínskej ľudovej republiky v jej regionálnom, ako aj celosvetovom meradle, je len ťažko popierateľný. Politické elity Čínskej ľudovej republiky projektujú budúcnosť krajiny na základe troch cieľov. Prvým cieľom je zabezpečiť si postavenie globálneho ekonomické lídra a vymeniť na prvej pozícii USA. Druhým a zároveň nadväzujúcim cieľom je získať status váženého a rešpektovaného aktéra, ktorý je schopný vyvažovať globálne mocenské tenzie pomocou svojej obchodnej a ekonomickej sily. Tretím cieľom je harmonizovať regionálnu obchodnú a ideovú roztrieštenosť a minimalizovať tak vplyv USA v ázijsko-pacifickej oblasti. Hlavným cieľom predkladanej práce je analyzovať medzinárodnopolitickú pozíciu Čínskej ľudovej republiky v súčasných medzinárodných vzťahoch. Rovnako má práca ambíciu skúmať zahraničnopolitické priority Čínskej ľudovej republiky s dôrazom na vzťahy s USA, Ruskom a Európskou úniou.
