The impact of the transformation of social services on the lives of people with mental disabilities

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá transformací sociálních služeb a jejím vlivem na život lidís mentálním postižením. Cílem je zjistit, jakým způsobem ovlivnila transformace životosob s mentálním postižením v konkrétních oblastech, ze kterých vychází dílčí výzkumnécíle.Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena naproblematiku mentálního postižení a specifika sociální práce s touto skupinou, dále jsouobjasněny pojmy spojené s deinstitucionalizací a transformací sociálních služeb.Pozornost je věnována i současnému systému sociálních služeb v České republice akonkrétním sociálním službám pro osoby s mentálním postižením, dále právům osobs postižením a s nimi spojené legislativě. Empirická část popisuje průběh vlastníhovýzkumného šetření, které bylo provedeno za použití kvalitativní strategie pomocímetody polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Informanty jsou osoby s lehkým mentálnímpostižením, které mají osobní zkušenost s procesem transformace sociálních služeb.V závěru práce jsou prezentovány a okomentovány výsledky výzkumného šetření.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the transformation of social services and its impact on thelives of people with mental disabilities. The main goal is to find out how thetransformation has affected the lives of people with mental disabilities in specific areas,from which the sub-research objectives are based.The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part of the thesisfocuses on the issue of mental disability and the specifics of social work with this group,and the concepts related to deinstitutionalization and transformation of social services areexplained. Attention is also paid to the current system of social services in the CzechRepublic and specific social services for people with mental disabilities, as well as therights of people with disabilities and related legislation. The empirical part describes thecourse of the actual research investigation, which was conducted using a qualitativestrategy with the method of semi-structured interview. The informants are persons withmild intellectual disabilities who have personal experience with the process oftransformation of social services. At the end of the thesis, the results of the research arepresented and commented.
