The aim of this master's thesis is to analyze and characterize translations of the novels about Hyman Kaplan by Leo Rosten, with the emphasis on language humor. The author focuses on the creative features of translation and compares the original texts with their Czech translations/transpositions by Pavel Eisner (of 1946) and Antonín Přidal (of 1987). Cílem této diplomové práce je analyzovat a charakterizovat překlady knih Leo Rostena o Hymanu Kaplanovi, a to se zaměřením na jazykový humor. Autorka se soustředí na tvůrčí aspekty překladu a porovnává s originálem české překlady/převedení Pavla Eisnera (z roku 1946) a Antonína Přidala (z roku 1987).
